2.         Australian Environmental Education Network Home Page

The Australian Environmental Education Network establishes a national network of environmental education and information program, materials and publications, in the interests of education for sustainability. Links to information are provided by user/interest categories.

3.         Biology Education Project - South Africa

Maintained by the Botany Department at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa, The Biology Education Project aims to product and distributes teaching aids via the Internet. The resources are globally accessible, and Project creators hope to encourage biology teachers and pupils around the world to interact with their counterparts in South Africa.

6.         Bureau of Land Management Environmental Education Homepage

A statement at the web site says, "The goal of the BLM's Environmental Education Program is to realize healthier and more productive public lands through better educated citizens who are willing to assist in solving complex environmental problems. The program includes both a school-based component and a public education and participation component." BLM's programs present concepts and principles of managing within nature's limits to teach students to become innovators and to make sound environmental management decisions,.

7.         Canterbury Environmental EducationCenter

CanterburyEnvironmentalEducationCenter is located in a nature reserve on the outskirts of Canterbury, Kent, UK. The centre provides facilities for research and teaching and supports primary, secondary and special schools throughout Kent. It is a partnership project between the National Grid Company and Kent County Council Education and Libraries Directorate. The centre is a KCC project managed by the Kent Advisory Service.

8.         Centre for Environment Education (CEE)

Established in 1984, CEE is a National Institute supported by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India as a Centre of Excellence in Environmental Education. Affiliated to the Nehru Foundation for Development, CEE's primary objective is to raise public awareness and understanding of environmental issues with a view to promote the conservation and wise use of nature and natural resources. CEE develops model programmes and materials to promote awareness and understanding of the environment.

9.         Centre for Environmental Sciences & Education

The Center for Environmental Sciences and Education at NorthernArizonaUniversity serves several unique purposes: The Center offers an interdisciplinary program leading to a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences in one of eight different focus areas, bringing together four separate Colleges within NAU. It supports the Northern Arizona Environmental Education Resources Center (NAEERC), offering assistance to faculty and students on campus, as well as educators throughout Northern Arizona, with the development and integration of environmental education programs in their curriculum. It serves as a liason with various city, county and tribal entities to provide access to information concerning a variety of environmental resources and issues. The Center is also the home of the AT-SLICE project.

10.       CERES Theme: California Environmental Education

CERES is an information system developed by the California Resource Agency to facilitate access to a variety of electronic data describing California's rich and diverse environments. The goal of CERS is to improve environmental analysis and planning by integrating natural and cultural resource information from multiple countributors and by making it available and useful to wide variety of users.

Education for Sustainability: An Agenda for Action, resulted from the National Forum on Partnerships Supporting Education about the Environment, held at the Presidio in San Franscisco in October 1994. The document contains recommendations on how to incorporate sustainability education into and beyond the classroom. Specific initiatives and opportunities provide guidance to individuals or groups interested in sustainability education and collaboration is encouraged from all sectors. Discussions between the President's Council on Sustainable Development and the Forum developed the framework for the implementation of sustainability education and include the following themes: 1. Lifelong Learning; 2. Interdisciplinary Approaches; 3. System Thinking, 4. Partnerships, 5. Multicultural Perspectives and 6. Empowerment.

22.       Educational ResourcesInformationCenter and other Clearinghouses 

The EducationalResourcesInformationCenter is a nationwide information network that acquires, catalogs, summarizes and provides access to education information from all sources. The data base and ERIC document commections are housed in about 3,000 locations worldwide, including most major public and university library systems. ERIC produces a variety of publications and provides extensive user assistance, including AskERIC, an electronic question answering service for teachers on the Internet.

25.       EEK! Environmental Education for Kids 

EEK! The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources brings environmental Education for Kids to you. This electronic magazine is for kids in grades 4-8. Surf around and learn more about the great outdoor resources of Wisconsin. Various sections include Out Earth - Stories about the environment; Protecting the Wild Ones-Endangered species in Wisconsin; Nature Notes - Plants, animals, and seasonal activities.

26.       EEN: Teacher Resources

Environmental Education Network Resources (EEN) is a collaborative effort among educators, the Envirolink Network and the environmental community to bring environmental education on-line and into a multimedia format. The EEN will act as the clearinghouse for all-environmental education information, materials and ides on the Internet.

27.       Electronic Mailing Lists for Global and Environmental Change Education

Compiled to provide easy access, these lists are useful discussion forums that address topical areas.

28.       Environment Canada Kidzone

Environment Canada deals with issues, Programme and other aspects of the ozone layer. Includes a Kidzone with facts and quizzes.

29.       Environmental Education Council of Ohio

The Environmental Education Council of Ohio is a non-profit organization for the educators and others who are concerned about the environment. EECO promotes environmental education to all audiences in the state of Ohio. Web sites provides organization information and links to other environmental education resources.

30.       Environmental Education

Information and materials from CPR Environmental Education Centre (Tamil Nadu, India). The Centre has been working in this field since 1981 and much of the materials have developed out of the needs and the materials amiable in India and elsewhere in South Asia. Thus the information given pertains primarily to the South Asian environment and climate pattern. However, it enshrines universal ideas, which are developed from years of fieldwork and experience.

31.       Environmental Education Association of Washington

Local information for the Pacific Northwest of North America, plus links to other environmental education resources on the web. EEAW is a dynamic non-profit organization comprised of teachers, community educators dedicated to offering and promoting effective environmental education to all sectors of Washington

32.       Environmental Education at WykehamPrimary School

School has provided its commitment to the environment by establishing the first phase of its own small apple orchard. The school is providing to pupils that small projects undertaken close to home can contribute to the solution of larger environmental issues.

33.       Environmental Education database 

The Directory of Environmental Education Resources is a joint project of the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education and the Colorado Department of Education. DEER includes Colorado and Regional agencies, Organizations, companies, groups and individuals that disseminate Environmental Education resources.

35.       Environmental Education Link

37.       EnviroScape

EnviroScape - environmental education tabletop models for non-point source pollution, hazardous waste, wetlands, landfill, and groundwater issues. It is an interactive, hands-on education and communication tool that is effective with all ages. In addition to being successfully used with students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, EnviroScape is also used by universities.

46.       Florida Advisory Council on Environmental Education

The Florida Advisory Council on Environmental Education (FACEE) was created by the Legislature in 1989 by amendment to the Florida Environmental Education Act. Its mission is to facilitate comprehensive, coordinated environmental education to all residents and visitors in the state; to increase the public's understanding of natural systems and resources and how they relate to the economy, public health and quality of life and to suggest and promote responsible action by Florida's residents and visitors will result in the proper management, protection and conservation of natural resources.

47.       FloridaInternetCenter for Understanding Sustainability

A joint effort between the Florida Center for Community Design and the University of South Florida's School of Architecture and Community Design. Includes sections on transportation, population and resource use, Florida's energy and ecosystems, and environmental education.

48.       GCRIO Global Change and Environmental Education Resources

This collection of resources was selected for their relevance to global change and environmental education. Included area a wide range of resources for educators and students at all levels (K-12 and higher education) librarians, citizens and community groups

49.       Global Change Game

This environmental education project was developed by students at the University of Manitoba in 1991 and is a challenging, energy-demanding, fast-paced creative activity that explores major global problems

50.       Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment

The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration supports the GLOBE Program, a worldwide network of K-12 students, scientists, and teachers working together to learn more about the global environment. Students, around the world perform environmental measurements daily, weekly, and seasonally with the guidance of their teachers. Students send their data, via the Internet, to the GLOBE Students Data Archive, where it is available to scientist and other students for the research

51.       Global Rivers Environment Education Network

Earth Force's GREEN is a source for water monitoring guides, kits and support. The network is committed to engaging youth in improving water resources.

52.       Global Warming: Focus on the Future

'Global Warming: Focus on the Future' is the web version of a traveling exhibition developed by the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History and the Environmental Defense Fund. The online exhibit covers topics, such as: Global Warming Is Happening; Global Warming Is a Problem: and You Can Help.

53.       Green & Growing Environmental Education Project's Home Page

Began as a teacher's lesson guide on food, agriculture, and sustainable development. This on-line version is divided into two lessons; The History of Agriculture and Description of sustainable development.

54.       Green COM-USAID's Environmental Education and Communication Project

GreenCOM provides environmental education and communication expertise to USAID projects dealing with biodiversity conservation, water resource management, policy, public participation, solid waste management and recycling.

The mission is to provide support and services for schools, teachers and students to fully utilize the Internet, and its underlying information technologies, as a basic tool for learning. 

65.       National 4-H Council Environmental Stewardship Program

The specific goals of the Environmental Stewardship program include: understanding ecological concepts, building an awareness of environmental issues and values, developing scientific investigator and critical think skills, and learning skills needed for effective action. In general, these goals foster leadership skills that allow youth to work as full partners with others to develop creative, community-based solutions to difficult environmental challenges.

The goal of the site is to provide middle school science students and teachers with research and investigation experiences using on-line resources.

78.       North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) Home Page 

The North American Association for Environmental Education is a network of professionals and students working in the field of environmental education throughout North America and in over 55 countries around the world. Since 1971 the Association has promoted environmental education and supported the work of environmental educators. There are many environmental interest groups, and many organizations dedicated to improving education. NAAEE uniquely combines and integrates both of these perspectives, and takes cooperative, nonconfrontational, scientifically balanced approach to promoting education about environmental issues. 

79.       North Carolina Environmental Education

NCEE serves a coordinating role among school and colleges, state and federal agencies, citizens groups and the business and industrial community in the promotion of environmental education and natural resource stewardship. As a guardian of the North Carolina Environmental Education Plan, the Office looks to that plan's fourteen objective to guide its efforts. 87.       Rogers Environmental Education Centre

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation operates RogersEnvironmentalEducationCenter. The DEC is responsible for protecting New York's natural resources. The RogersCenter is devoted to teaching people about these resources and using them wisely. The Rogers Environmental Education Center Journal is published quarterly.

88.       Second Nature 

Second Nature is a nonprofit organization, which helps higher education institutions "green" their curricula, campus operations, research and community outreach.

The Southeast Asian Science Policy Advisory Network is an evolving network dedicated to improving the links and understanding between policy and scientific communities. SEA-SPAN includes electronic discussion lists, news lists, and electronic conferences. 

93.       The Center for Environmental Education

The Center for Environmental Education integrates environmental education into all aspects of the K-12 curriculum. Provides environmental networking, online resources, grant opportunities, and exemplary environmental programs to teachers, students and general public.

94.       The European Environmental Education Newsletter (EEE-N)  

The first online issue of EEE-News became available in late summer 1998, and the second edition was posted in fall. The newsletter presents items relevant to environmental education in Europe including announcements of conferences, publication, and links to online materials.

96.       The Great Green Web Game 

The Great Green Web Game, developed by the Union of Concerned Scientists, is based on an analysis of the environmental impact of consumer decisions. Air pollution, water pollution, destruction of natural habitats, and global warming are the main forms of environmental damage caused by consumer-related activities today. The Great Green Web Game shows how you can reduce this damage through effective consumer choices.

98.       The Magic School Bus 

Scholastic's The Magic School Bus, based on the award-winning book series by Joanna Cole and Bruce Degen, features a wacky science teacher named Ms.Frizzle who takes her class of enthusiastic, inquisitive students and playful sidekick, Liz, the lizard, on educational field trip in her magically transformable bus. 

99.       The Water Underground - University of Michigan

This site is designed to help K-12 classrooms learn more about weather. There are places to find current information, share data, and download applications. It is a great resource for teachers and students.

100.     USDA Agricultural Research Service Sci4Kids 

Aci4Kids is a series of stories about what scientists do at the USDA Agricultural Research Service. Geared to kids about 8 to 13 years old, it is produced by the ARS Information Staff in Beltsville, Maryland. They bet you'will agree that much of what their scientist do is not what you might expect.

This site has research and education information about many subjects, and staff specialists who can answer your questions or refer you to someone at state or county level that possesses the information you need.

102.     USGS Learning Web: Changing World (Global Change) 

A web site with information on teaching about aspects of global change to students from grades 4 through 6.

We The People's School of Sustainability (S O S) provides the education and training necessary to create sustainable business, green markets, ecologically-aware citizens, gardeners and proactive communities through workshops and forums, hands-on training and publications.

104.     WisconsinCenter for Environmental Education Home Page 

The mission of the WisconsinCenter for Environmental Education is to promote, develop, disseminate, implement, and evaluate environmental education programs for K-12 teachers and students in Wisconsin. 

105.     World Resources Institute (WRI) Environment Education

WRI presents a wealth of resources in many formats from full-text online access to videos, and guides that include lesson plans, overhead transparency masters, and student exercises. WRI addresses both local and global environmental issues by adapting teaching materials to local needs (Mexico, India, Europe, Australia, Vietnam, and Japan with more countries to come) and the production of foreign language adaptations of Teachers Guides.

106.Worldwatch Institute 

Worldwatch Institute is dedicated to fostering the evolution of an environmentally sustainable society, and publishes the annual "State of the World" Report. The site provides access to World Watch Magazine, Alerts and Briefings, and publications.
